None of this music has been professionally recorded but it represents what I was doing in these places and times in my life.
Melbourne 1982-1985

I moved from Hobart to Melbourne (sorta like moving from Haiti to Miami !) Welcome to the big smoke !
I had auditioned for a band I had seen on "Countdown" rock program and had got a gig with a band With A Record Contract !!
Unfortunately, that band was on the downward slide, but in the next three years, I would climb the ladder that would lead to fame and fortune..well, a bit of fame, but no fortune..but thats a story for another time !

The Gear
This period saw big changes. Firstly I sold the DR55 for a Tr 606 then a Yamaha RX 11
Sold the Rhodes and the Rs09 and got one of the first DX7's ..this changed my world completely !
I also got a Commodore 64 running SCI software sequencer..the first time I had used sequencing..before that everything was hand played.
As the JP8 was in the band truck a lot, I ended up with SCI T8 synth which with the DX's, became my mainstay.
By 1985 the other big revolution occurred..the Mirage Sampler.
This opened a whole new world of sound and songwriting for me.

Looking back, the amazing thing was that all the music that was done in this time period was concurrent with playing in a national full time recording and touring live band !
Any time that I was given off was channeled into this musical endeavour.

The Music
This album was all done at the Windsor House except Uluwatu and Mars Landscape which were done at Footscray 1985.
Mainly still all instrumental, but with the sequencing and the greatly expanded sound palette, I was able to
create with broader brush strokes and flesh out the little musical ditties i wrote.
Everything was still improvised, but the results were way better to me.
Dreams was my first major work but suffers from noise reduction artefacts but is included here as I believe it is musically interesting and worth aural attention.
I sampled my friend Simon Dawes Steinberger bass into the Mirage on this track.
