Ah...Sydney 1986- 1989 !
I was working selling synths for the Brash Company (Australias largest music business at the time)
I lived in a luxury apartment in Potts Point on the 11 th floor over looking the harbour and Wooloomooloo and life was pretty good.

This music reflects the age of the Akai sampler.
First it was the S900, then the S1000 and finally the S1100.
It was also the period I went beserk buying analog synths.. Prophets , Moogs, Oberheim, Fairlights..although they are used sparingly on these recordings..I was really into my sampling and midi...it just opened so much opportunity musically.

I had sold the Commodore 64 for the "you beaut" IBM running Voyetra Sequencer Plus. This turned into a shit fight.
It chewed every 5 1/4 disk I had saved my little pieces of music on !
I lost so much music I was writing in mid 1986, due to this piece of shit.
My studio room was on the 11 th floor and directly facing the city of Sydney (see pic).
I lost my cool one day and just pushed the whole IBM out the window (there was a shear drop of the 11 floors plus a cliff) and I watched it smash into pieces on the street far below !
No shit..no word of a lie !!
The aboriginals who lived in Wooloomoolooo came and scavaged the broken pieces as I watched.
I then went and bought a Atari 1040 ste..which I still use to this day !

Anyway, this music reflects mainly sampling although there are some choice cuts in the next instalment, which is the Curios and Momentos , but for the budding Synthesizer Historian (you dear listener) there are lots of things to like amongst these pieces.
